Operations field guide
Monitor the contract, not every pixel
Useful monitoring starts with the promises a page makes to customers and search engines.
Choose stable signals
Track the title, primary heading, canonical URL, robots directives, structured data, and the content needed to complete a task. Ignore decorative churn unless it changes meaning.
Compare source and rendered output
A server response and the final browser DOM can tell different stories. Keep both so an investigation can show exactly where a regression entered the page.
